Axel
He has been practicing Aikido for 30 years and holds the 6th Dan Aikikai. In 2007, he founded Kikentai.Berlin and has led the dojo with great passion and commitment ever since. He wants to encourage both adults and children to discover martial arts as a path for themselves and to develop through it.
As a Budo instructor, he is present in the dojo almost daily, teaching Aikido, Ken/Jo-Jutsu, Jiu-Jitsu, and also children's Budo. His profound experience and deep knowledge of martial arts make his teaching a multi-faceted experience.
His teachers include, in particular, Christian Tissier, Endo Seishiro & Inaba Minoru (all 8th Dan), and many others. Inspiration and exchange, also beyond Aikido, are important pillars of his practice.

Horst
7th Dan Aikido in Federal Association of Aikido Instructors. As a senior Aikido instructor, he brings nearly 50 years of training experience. His Aikido journey has been influenced by many renowned teachers: from Gerd Walter to Katsuaki Asai & Hiroshi Tada, and Christian Tissier. Until 2020, he led the Aikido Zentrum Berlin on Brunnenstraße, which unfortunately had to close after 28 years in the midst of the Corona pandemic. Horst and his students have found a new Aikido home at Kikentai.Dojo.
Horst teaches calm & flowing movements where attackers and defenders come together. Since 1998, he has maintained a country dojo on an old farm in the Uckermark. The Kikentai Dojo has been a guest there with a Budo summer camp since 2018.

Ilka
Ilka started Aikido in 2005 and has held the 3rd Dan Aikikai since 2025. Within the Kikentai-Budo curriculum, she received her 3rd Dan in Buki-Waza in 2023. Regular Tai Chi and Qi Gong training complement her practice, where she finds inspiration, peace, and inner strength. She has explored the healing aspects of the Budo path through a Shiatsu training, among other things. As an instructor of Internal Power, Qi Gong, Aikido, and Sword, she aims to convey the inner work on body and mind at the Kikentai.Dojo.
She wants to support children in their natural expression of movement and strengthen their connection to their own bodies. In doing so, she conveys values that empower children to navigate life safely, mindfully, and freely.
In the Kikentai Dojo, she teaches Stick & Sword for teens, Kids-Budo 7+ & 10+, as well as Internal Power and Budo for Women & FLINTA.
Together with Axel, she has been managing the Budo Summer Camp in Uckermark since 2017. ilka@kikentai.berlin
Bastie
is an active Budoka and Sempai at the dojo. He particularly enjoys training with the Jo (staff), which he also likes to juggle and experiment with new moves outside of the dojo. Since 2023, he has held a black belt in Kikentai Budo.
Bastei is a trained educator and has, among other things, experience from youth clubs. He currently gives seminars and workshops for children and teenagers at schools. At Kikentai.Berlin, he joyfully and empathetically leads the Kids' Budo 4+ class on Wednesdays and Fridays. bastie@kikentai.berlin

Naturally, our "full-time Budoka" is also diligently involved in Aikido, and has been sharing his joy and enthusiasm with the Purzelbudo children on Mondays since 2022.
